  • Writing on the Wall

Natalie Denny has been a great friend and supporter of Writing on the Wall. She is a talented writer who was runner up in our acclaimed annual novel writing competition, Pulp Idol, with her superb first chapter, The Girl With The Words, published in our Pulp Idol – Firsts 2020 anthology, and most recently, as participant in our project ‘Time to Breathe’ created in response to racism and the Black Lives Matter Movement; for our Black History Month festival she read two of her poems, Dear Luna and We Are Our Ancestor’s Wildest Dream, live online, which will also be published in a collection of writing from the project. It’s no surprise to us at WoW, as besides being a committed writer, Natalie is a compassionate, caring activist, that she has launched Skywriters, a welcome initiative which will mean so much to those it reaches at this difficult time. We wish her all the very best, and have no doubts that this project with really fly with Natalie at the controls.

  • FACT Liverpool

    Learning Facilitator open call:

Natalie's knowledgeable guidance was invaluable during our open call recruitment process. It was a job post that included a lot of different layers. Natalie's knowledge, patience and openness to questions meant together we have created a much more accessible document which we are extremely happy with. It will be referred to for all recruitment processes going forward.

    EDI glossary:

We invited Natalie to work with us in FACT’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion glossary. Her insight helped us to understand terminology, but most importantly she guided us in our own learning process to understand what each concept means to us. She was fundamental in the way we present this resource, how it will be used and presented to the team and collaborators.

We invited Natalie to come and speak to our women on our Rise Up: Confidence, Performance and Positive Futures course, as we had a few aspiring writers. The session was jam-packed with juicy nuggets of advice, signposting to beneficial organisations and all-round words of wisdom from Natalie. The women (and our staff!) got so much from the session and we can't thank Natalie enough for being such an inspiration!
